Diary Entry 1
Hi, so I am not the best at writing diary entries because I never really know
where to start. Do I start by telling you how my day had gone or by detailing
my every minute. I would get so overwhelmed just trying to find a good
greeting. So, I hope that you don’t mind read some of the poems that I’ve
written over my time in quarantine. This poem is called Midnight Drum,
Heads fall nights call
Stars twinkle while eyes wrinkle
Full moon sleep soon
Beds filled and time is stilled
Finished is the daytime hum
As nighttime plays the midnight drum
Stores are closed while the stray runs through the empty rows
Low music from the park benches plays as the shadow of night has come to
stay
Gentle whispers in the air telling its secret to those who’ll hear
The soft cries of the motherless animal are almost inaudible over the roar of
the drunkard calling out for things intangible
As night continues the tasks for tomorrow are being issued
Slowly the light begins to peak past the clouds
Signaling to the night that it was time for a new sound
Alarm clocks ring Tvs on
It’s a new day life must go on

Diary Entry 2
Hello !! I hope you’re having a great day. Today’s a pretty nice day in the
city. I’m taking my nephew to the park so he can get some air after being
stuck in the house for months ( not that this is his first time out of the house
lol). I made a huge mess in kitchen last night making pizza from scratch.
Here’s a poem,
Midnight Meditations
Meditative thoughts caress the soul at midnight
Looking out across the horizon
Wondering what was and will be
Polaris shines brightly over the alley
Thoughts of tomorrow weighing heavily on my mind
Stretching out longer than the cat can count
The mystery of that house down the road
Grinds the gears of your mind like the wheels of the bike you had at twelve
As night hides behind the coming light
Your mind begins to rest
Soft clouds take over the sky
Until tonight our song is spent

Diary Entry 3
Today was pretty long day I didn’t have a lot of time to study for my test for
Psych, but I still passed which is awesome. I love that class; I want to be a
clinical psychiatrist in the future so that class really motivates me!! Tonight,
is taco night but everyone was super busy, so we bought tacos from our
local taco truck!! This place has the best tacos ever I usually get the pork
tacos with everything on them. One of my main sources of happiness
during the quarantine is finding new places to eat and especially at small
businesses just to help out a little more in the community. Here’s todays
poem this one relates more to my love of Greek mythology
Melpomene
Her grace mimics that of an ever flowing river
Pride thick in her veins
Time itselfs stumbles when she passes
Mesmerizing symphonies caress the air
The softness of her voice paint the sky
Every breath unique
Winds coming to a halt listening out for her
Seductive and alluring… her audience is hooked
Captivated or her captives the lines blurred
Her calming hum brings even the most dignified men
to their knees
She baits them with promises of desire
As men do they fall prey to her temptation
Anchoring their souls to an entity unknown
Giving in to every enchanting note
Finally she is released
